Located along the Bohol beach, the resort boasts of a long stretch of white sand beach that awaits you on your beach holiday. Wherever you go, be it in the restaurant, in your room or villa or under the palms, there’s plenty of beach view for you to enjoy. 💖
You can literally spend the entire day relaxing by the beach, looking at the blue skies and glimmering waters reflecting the sunshine, as well as enjoying the cool breeze of the wind as the waves crash on the shore.
2. Beach Villas and Beachfront Accommodations
By far, South Palms Resort Panglao is the only luxury resort in Bohol that has rooms and villas with direct access to the beach.
Their 90 rooms and villas exude tranquility, privacy and modernity. Mixing traditional Filipino design with a modern touch, their rooms and villas provide authentic relaxation in a tropical paradise.
Each room and villa offers free Wi-Fi, a flat screen cable TV, air conditioning, safety deposit box, terrace, mini fridge, and a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer and amenities.
During our 4-day staycation at South Palms Resort, we were able to experience the Beach villa and Premium Beachfront room.
BEACH VILLA
Their Beach Villa is situated right along the beach and offers an elegant touch to your holiday in Panglao. Featuring 60sqm of space, a separate living area and spacious bathroom, this villa is great for couples on their honeymoon. 😊
Here are the PROs and CONs of staying at the beach villa:
PROs
– the villa is spacious and has big living area with it’s own veranda, swing, day beds and beach view
– the bathroom has a beach view with a bathtub creatively placed in one corner
– the villa is near the restaurant
– wifi connection is strong
– the villa has a microwave oven that you can use to re-heat your leftover food 😊👌
CONs
– while it is near the restaurant, which is a good thing accessibility wise, it also means the space gets easily crowded and even though there are privacy signs, many people still come near (even in front of the villa) to take photos.
– the bed doesn’t have a direct beach view
PREMIUM BEACH FRONT
Spacious, exclusive and boasting direct access to the beach. This is what you will find in the Premium Beachfront rooms, ideal for romantic getaways. 😉
Here are the PROs and CONs of staying at the premium beach front room:
PROs
– has more direct beach access than the beach villa
– it is more private and exclusive than the beach villa
– the living area and bedroom both have a beach view
– it also has a bathtub
CONs
– the room is far from the restaurant (but the walk to the room is relaxing)
– the living area is not air conditioned (although it’s meant for you to enjoy the natural breeze)
– internet connection is poor (compared to the Beach Villa)
Price wise, the beach villa is more expensive than the premium beachfront room.
Overall, staying at the beach villa and premium beach front are both a delight. It all boils down to your preference.
- If you want more space, accessibility and strong wifi, you can go for the beach villa. 😉
- If you prefer, privacy, exclusivity and more direct access to the beach, the premium beachfront room would be a good choice. 😉👌
3. Pools Few Steps From the Beach
The resort has two pools, one near the restaurant and one in the premium rooms area.
The infinity pool near the restaurant has an uninterrupted view of the beach while the one in the premier rooms is just a few steps from the beach as well.
While the pools are smaller compared to pools in other luxury resorts in Bohol they are just enough to take a quick dip, relax and enjoy the beach view. After all, the main highlight of the resort is their long stretch of white sand beach.
4. Beachfront Restaurant and Pool Bar with Great Food/ Beach Dining
Villa, room and pool with a beach view? Add a restaurant and pool bar to that list, too! 😋
The bigger dining restaurant is very much accessible from the reception area, function halls, pool and beach.
Just a few steps away is the Coastal Pool Bar which has colorful beach sofas that have become the trademark of South Palms Resort. It’s like you haven’t been to the resort if you don’t have a photo of their comfy, orange, round sofas. 🙂
What’s interesting is that the resort is practicing farm to table dining! They have the South Farm, where they grow their own plants, vegetables and livestock that they serve in the resort.
Food is good, especially their Pulled Pork Pizza and breakfast staples like congee and the farm feast. We loved their Halo-halo, too! 😋
5. Beach Resort with its Own Farm

South Farm Panglao-Bohol is a 9-hectare organic land property that is located in Panglao, Bohol promoting rural, handmade, handcrafted, hand-built tourist destinations.
It’s interesting to know that concept of South Farm was born during the pandemic to help save displaced resort employees and still give them jobs while waiting for the tourism industry to slowly go back to normal.
📌There are three areas in South Farm:
✨ FARMER’S VILLAGE – where they grow plants, vegetables and livestock for the resort’s restaurant. Farm to table, indeed! 👌🏻
✨ FISHERMAN’S VILLAGE – where the fishing lake is located. Guests can enjoy fishing in the lake, weigh your catch and take them home or ask the farm’s restaurant to cook it for you.
✨ ARTISAN’S VILLAGE – where you can see and buy crafts made by the local community
We can already imagine how kids and families will enjoy the South Farm experience when it fully opens but for now, only the Farmer’s Village is open.✨
📌 To set your expectations, here are things you should know before visiting South Farm:
– There are still a lot of constructions going on for the Fisherman and Artisan’s village.
– You will do a lot of walking around the property so it’s better to wear comfortable clothes and footwear. 👍🏼
– The best time to go is around 4pm to avoid harsh heat from the sun. ☀️
– You can have close encounters with the animals and feed them. ☺️

6. A Thousand Palm Trees For More Relaxation
Yes, that is correct. The resort has around a thousand palm trees, making it the ultimate tropical paradise in Bohol. 🏝
You can either go biking under the palm trees, set up your picnic mat under the shade, swing your heart out or just lay on the sand, read a good book and enjoy the breeze.
7. Daybeds, Swings and Beach Sofas near the Beach
Speaking of relaxing by the beach, South Palms make sure that you have plenty of day beds, beach sofa and swing to choose from.
In the restaurant, there are round beach sofas that you can sit on if you just want to chill and enjoy the drink. There are daybeds and swings under the palm trees as well.
Relaxation at its finest! We honestly felt like we haven’t been as relaxed as how we felt by just watching the beach, the waves, the skies and the sun just at the comfort of our villa.
8. Beach Recreation Activities
One of the activities that you can do in South Palms is biking around the resort. What’s interesting is that instead of the usual bikes, what they have are bamboo bikes that you can ride along their stress free zone and white sand beach. It’s honestly more difficult to drive though than the usual bike. 😀
Also located in the stress-free zone is their gym and game area. They have billiards, table soccer and table tennis. The gym isn’t that big but it has all the basic equipment that you need for your holiday workout. Just beside the gym is the tennis court.
You can also play volleyball by the beach, go paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling and enjoy other water activities in the resort.
9. Massage by the Beach
Zenses Spa. That’s what they call their massage by the beach.
They have this Stress-free zone where the beachfront massage huts are located.
You don’t even need relaxing music on the background because the sounds of the crickets at night and the waves crashing on the shore are more than enough to give you the ultimate relaxation that you need.
10. Sunrise and Sunset View
One of the things that make South Palms really stand out is that it’s ideally located where both sunrise and sunset can be visibly seen in their glory. On one side is where you can catch the sunrise and on the other side is where you can chase sunsets — both by the beach.

All the staff are wearing face masks and face shields. There are also lots of alcohol stations and safety protocols signages from the hallway, reception area to the restaurant. 👍
They also placed a hygienic kit on our room which includes face masks, tissue and alcohol.
