Bai Hotel Cebu Review: Is It Worth Staying With Family?

This wasn’t our first time staying at Bai Hotel Cebu.

In fact, it was our second visit, and coming back reminded us why we enjoyed our first stay so much. While Cebu has no shortage of hotels to choose from, Bai Hotel was one of the places we genuinely wanted to return to because it offered the things that matter most to our family—comfortable rooms, good food, convenient location, and warm hospitality.

During our recent trip to Cebu, we stayed at Bai Hotel once again and had another enjoyable experience. Here are some of the things we appreciated most during our stay.

1. The One-Bedroom Suite Gave Our Family Plenty of Space

For this trip, we stayed in one of Bai Hotel’s One-Bedroom Suites, and it worked really well for our family.

A Separate Living Area for Family Time

One of the first things we noticed was how much space there was. When traveling with kids, having room to move around makes a big difference. Instead of spending all our time in the sleeping area, we had a separate living space where we could relax, read books, enjoy snacks, or simply spend time together after a day of exploring Cebu.

A Convenient Kitchenette

The suite also came with its own kitchenette. While we didn’t use it for cooking, having a dining area and kitchenette made room service a much more appealing option for us.

Instead of heading out for every meal, there were times when we simply wanted to relax and enjoy the comfort of the suite. The setup made it easy to have meals delivered to our room, and we ended up ordering room service several times during our stay. For families traveling with kids, it’s a nice option to have—especially after a long day when everyone just wants to slow down and enjoy a meal together without leaving the room.

Scenic City Views

We also enjoyed the view from the room. The large windows let in plenty of natural light and offered scenic views of the city. Whether it was early in the morning or later in the evening when the city lights started to appear, it was nice having a view to enjoy from the comfort of the room.

Just a Few Floors from the Rooftop Pool

Another practical advantage was its proximity to the rooftop pool. Since the suite was only a few floors away, going back and forth was easy—something parents traveling with children can definitely appreciate.

2. Breakfast Buffet Continues to Be One of the Highlights

Plenty of Choices for Everyone

If you’ve stayed at Bai Hotel before, you’ll probably understand why their breakfast buffet is one of the most talked-about parts of the experience.

There are plenty of choices available, which is always helpful when everyone in the family has different preferences. From Filipino breakfast favorites and international dishes to pastries, fruits, cereals, and egg stations, there was something for everyone.

An Interesting Indoor Hydroponics Garden

One thing we found particularly interesting was Bai Hotel’s indoor hydroponics setup. Despite being located in the middle of a busy city, the hotel grows some of its own produce on-site as part of its sustainability efforts. It’s a thoughtful initiative that we enjoyed learning about during our stay.

Local Flavors at Breakfast

We also appreciated how they highlight local flavors during breakfast.

On some mornings, staff members walked around offering taho and hot cups of sikwate. They also served puto maya paired with ripe mangoes—a classic Cebuano combination that many locals grew up enjoying. These familiar Filipino favorites added a nice local touch to the dining experience and made breakfast feel a little more special.

It’s always nice to see a hotel buffet go beyond the usual offerings and showcase regional delicacies that give guests a taste of local culture.

Watch Out for Dining Promos and Discounts

Bai Hotel also regularly offers dining promotions and discounts, which is something worth checking out if you’re planning a stay.

3. We Enjoyed Dining at Ume Japanese Cuisine

During our stay, we also had the opportunity to dine at Ume Japanese Cuisine, one of Bai Hotel’s signature restaurants.

The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. We enjoyed how the dishes felt authentic without being overly complicated. Every meal we tried was thoughtfully presented and packed with flavor.

Aside from the food itself, we liked the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Compared to larger dining spaces, Ume felt quieter and more private. It was a nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal, whether you’re dining as a family, celebrating a special occasion, or simply looking for a more intimate dining experience.

It’s definitely one of the restaurants we’d happily visit again.

4. The Rooftop Pool and Bar Offers Beautiful City Views

The rooftop pool remains one of our favorite spots in the hotel.

Located high above the city, it offers a great view of Cebu’s skyline and surrounding areas. Whether you’re swimming, relaxing by the pool, or simply enjoying the scenery, it’s an easy place to spend a few hours unwinding.

Our kids had fun in the pool, while we enjoyed sitting back and taking in the view.

We especially liked visiting during the late afternoon for sunset when the city slowly transitions into evening. Watching the lights come on while enjoying the rooftop atmosphere was one of those simple moments that made the stay feel more relaxing.

For adults, the rooftop bar is also a nice place to grab a drink while enjoying the view.

5. Its Location Makes Exploring Cebu Easy

Another thing we appreciate about Bai Hotel is its location in Mandaue City.

For travelers arriving through Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the hotel is relatively easy to reach. At the same time, it’s also convenient for those planning to visit Cebu City, making it a practical base for exploring different parts of Metro Cebu.

One area we found ourselves visiting during this trip was Mandani Bay, which is just nearby. There are several restaurants, cafés, and dining spots, giving guests more options if they want to explore outside the hotel.

For families, having these places within easy reach is always a plus.

6. The Kids Room Is a Nice Bonus for Families

One feature that our children particularly enjoyed was Bai Hotel’s Kids Room.

While it’s not the biggest attraction in the hotel, it’s one of those thoughtful additions that families can appreciate.

Having a dedicated play space gives children a chance to stay active and entertained, especially during downtime between activities. It also gives parents a little opportunity to relax while the kids enjoy themselves.

It’s a simple feature, but one that reinforces Bai Hotel’s family-friendly atmosphere.

7. The Hospitality Stood Out Once Again

While the rooms, food, and facilities were all enjoyable, what stood out most during our stay was the service.

Throughout our visit, the staff were consistently friendly, accommodating, and approachable.

One thing we noticed—and something we don’t often see in other hotels—was the presence of staff members throughout the lobby area. Beyond the front desk and concierge, there were team members readily available to assist guests, answer questions, and provide directions whenever needed.

It’s a small detail, but it made a noticeable difference.

The interactions felt warm and genuine, reflecting the kind of Filipino hospitality that makes guests feel welcome and cared for.

Would We Stay Here Again?

Absolutely! Our second stay at Bai Hotel Cebu reminded us why we enjoyed our first visit so much. No hotel is perfect, but Bai Hotel does many things well. From the spacious suite and breakfast buffet to the rooftop pool and welcoming staff, it continues to be a comfortable and family-friendly option whenever we’re in Cebu.

Special thanks to Ms. Kate for accommodating us! 😊🫶
