Amorita Resort Review: 15 Reasons to Stay in Amorita

“Amorita” is a Spanish word which means “little love”, something to call only the best and most amazing girl you will ever meet. 🌸

It’s probably the reason why Amorita is also called “Little Darling” as it makes every effort to create an amazing experience for their guests.

Secluded atop a limestone cliff on the southern edge of Panglao Island, Amorita gives you the ultimate tranquil escape, embodying all the natural treasures of Bohol — limestone, blue waters, pristine white sand and lush greenery.

We have stayed here a couple of times and no hype, Amorita never fails to surprise us. 💖

Have you been to Bohol’s Little Darling? Here are 15 interesting things that would make you want to stay in Amorita Resort:

1. Their Seaview Pool Villa

This multi-awarded and eco-friendly luxury resort boasts of almost a hundred rooms from deluxe rooms to junior suites, one-bedroom suites, seaview suites, garden pool villas, family villa and seaview pool villas. See cheaper room rates here

You can easily notice their minimalist designs in their rooms with a pop of colors to accentuate. They are passionate about organic modern aesthetics and being a green resort, many of their amenities are nature-friendly — less plastic but more on reusable, chic refillable containers.

Our favorite is their Seaview Pool Villa, where we stayed to celebrate our first wedding monthsary. It has a 120 sqm garden area and king bed with it’s own plunge pool and patio overlooking the breathtaking Bohol seas. The villa is furnished with complimentary minibar, coffee machine, flat-screen cable TV, Loudbasstard sound amplifier, hair dryer, in-room safe, and complimentary WiFi.

If there’s one thing that makes Amorita stand out, it would be their sweet gesture, attention to details and thoughtfulness. They always welcome us with notes and even add more personal touches to our villa like our couple photo, a photo of our pet and giveaway plants! 😊👍

Did I mention they are generous with complementaries, too? From cake to wine and cookies that they replenish everyday to fruits and other desserts. They always make our stay like a honeymoon over and over again. 🥰

Also, their housekeeping services are twice daily! We always come back to our villa with a cleaner space, new towels and additional kits in the vanity area. With COVID-19, I think they aren’t doing this for now because of the protocols but for sure when things go back to normal, this kind of luxury service will be back, too.

Kudos to Sir Petronilo Quizon, their housekeeping manager for the clean rooms, attention to details, thoughtful surprises and creative ideas!

2. Stunning Sunsets with Signature Cocktails in Azotea

Their cocktail hour at Azotea with scenic infinity pool is something you shouldn’t miss when you stay in Amorita. Wouldn’t it be nice to witness the stunning sunset with your loved one beside you and an Amorita signature cocktail in one hand? Missing their Mojitos already! 💖

3. Open Spaces For Biking

Do you love biking? Whether you do it for fitness or for leisure, you will have fun biking around the resort. They have tandem bikes for couples, too! You can grab one of the bikes available and bike your way around the green spaces of Amorita.

4. Breakfast and Dinner Buffet at Saffron Restaurant

This isn’t available right now because of safety protocols but before the pandemic happened, Amorita offered a daily breakfast buffet for its guests at Saffron Restaurant. The selection wasn’t a lot but the quality of the food was superb! Honestly one of the best breakfast buffets that we’ve tried so far. 😋

They have a salad selection for health conscious guests. Cereal for kids, congee, cheeses and cold cuts, yoghurt, different kinds of morning drinks, freshly baked breads, crispy bacon, eggs, fresh fruits and other breakfast must-haves.

Al Fresco dining is always a breath of fresh air and a reason to take your time for breakfast.

They have dinner buffets on weekends, too. Make sure you get to try it when you stay in Amorita soon. 😉

5. Their Two Infinity Pools

Amorita has two scenic pools – the one in Azotea, overlooking Alona beach and the one beside Saffron restaurant.

The one most photographed is the infinity pool in Azotea. There, you get to have an undisturbed view of the beach, blue skies and shimmering seas. Whether it’s a quick morning dip or relaxing sunset swim, you will love the view from the pool. On Fridays, they offer their signature cocktails as complimentary for in-house guests so we were able to enjoy unlimited cocktails while lounging by the pool.

The one beside Saffron restaurant has its own charm, too. While the view isn’t as open as the one in Azotea, it has a different twist with trees adding more greenery to the ocean view. This one is perfect for families with kids as half of the pool is shallow and safe for your little ones.

6. Their Hammocks and Cabanas

Just want to relax and read a good book? They have hammocks and cabanas where you can chill, too.

With fresh air and a refreshing sea view, we wouldn’t mind staying here the entire afternoon. 😁

7. Archery

Another thing that we love about Amorita is that they make sure they have plenty of activities for guests to enjoy while staying in the resort. One of these is archery. We were pretty excited because we haven’t tried archery before. They have complete gear that you need and a staff that will guide you if you’re a beginner.

We were also surprised to know that archery makes you burn calories even if it’s just a stationary sport! It works on your arm strength, focus and coordination. It’s a great bonding for couples, families and group of friends. 😉

8. Unlimited Wine and Tapas in Tomar

Tomar is Amorita’s classy tapas x bar that fuses Spanish cuisine with the Boholano taste. They have European Classics such as paellas, tapas, and pintxos with carefully curated wine and whiskey selections from around the globe.

Not only the food speaks for the theme but the whole ambiance of the room as well. The European interiors were elegantly evident and Spanish vibe can be heard in the background music. We went there for early dinner so we were lucky to have the place all to ourselves.

We had tapas and white wine, which was a great combo. My favorite was their ratatouille.

Overall, Tomar was an interesting experience. Romantic and cozy at the same time. Definitely a wine night to remember! 🥂

9. Their Private Romantic Dinner

Planning a wedding proposal, an anniversary date or celebrating a milestone in your marriage? You can celebrate love with a full-course romantic dinner set at the most picturesque spot in the island.

You can either choose the cliff deck dinner with sunset and Alona beach as backdrop or go for the cabanas with an overlooking ocean view in the more secluded part of the resort . We chose a 3-course dinner by the cliff side. 😍

Private dinners are available for in-house guests and walk-ins. You just have to book ahead.

10. Massage and Milk Bath in Sea Tree Spa

One of the best massage experiences that we had! We loved the ambiance and concept of their Sea Tree Spa. The full-body massage paired with hot milk bath was the combo we never thought we needed. We loved it! We’ll definitely do it again when we go back. 😁

11. Yoga at Cliff Deck or Poolside

Amorita offers a complimentary yoga session for in-house guests if your stay falls on a weekend. When we went there, we had a Saturday morning so we were able to join their yoga session. 🧘

As of now, they have Sunday Stretch with yogi Raisa of Yoga Bohol once a month which allows walk-ins to join a morning yoga by the poolside with complimentary breakfast and whole-day use of their pools.

12. Their Obstacle Course Run Around the Resort

If you love challenge, this is for you. 💪

When we stayed in Amorita for our team building, they piloted their new activity for in-house guests — the obstacle course run around the beautiful resort. With this, you hit 2 birds in one stone. You get to maintain your active lifestyle even when on vacation and also get a tour around the beautiful spots in the resort.

The obstacle course will take you from Saffron restaurant to their gym, the cliff deck, their overlooking gardens and cabana, archery area and to the resort entrance to finish. Exercises include push-ups, jump rope, hula hoops, burpees, archery and of course running.

It will keep your heart pumping but also help you relax because of the views. Definitely a fun way to sweat early in the morning!

13. Their Gym Facilities

If you prefer to get that morning sweat indoors, they have a gym, too, with everything you need to stay physically fit. Their thoughtfulness and attention to details are everywhere. So far, the only resort that provides lemon water for their guests to power up your day.

14. Water Activities at Alona Beach

Another cool thing about Amorita is that they have an exclusive access to Alona’s pristine white sand. So if you feel like you want to explore the famous beach, you don’t need to go far. You can go down and go back anytime you want to.

They also have water activities like kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling for in-house guests. 😊 We wish we were able do it but the weather didn’t permit us to. For sure, we’ll try it next time. 🙏

15. Their Cove and Private Beach

If you want a private beach, they have it, too! They have this secret spot in the other side of the resort with a cove and private beach, perfect for those who want something secluded. 😊

New Normal Protocols

When it comes to new normal protocols, Amorita did a great job making sure we are safe during our entire stay. They are the only resort that we’ve gone so far that disinfected our luggage upon arrival. Temperatures are checked in the main gate. They have alcohol and tissue in the main entrance, too, with social distancing marks.

Resort registration and food menus are online via QR code. Only open spaces and Al Fresco dining is available, too, to make sure there’s good ventilation for everyone.

Alcohols are everywhere, daybeds are sanitized. And they have complimentary hygienic kits in your room. We love their peppermint-infused sanitizer! 🤩👍

Special thanks to Sir Nilo Quezon for always making sure that all our needs are attended to. He is the man behind the excellent housekeeping services of Amorita. The man behind the thoughtful gestures, creative ideas and attention to details. Thank you for being so accommodating and welcoming, always making our stay like a honeymoon. 😍😁

With Amorita, staycations don’t have to be boring. They have everything you need from mouth-watering international cuisines, to scenic pools, relaxing views, prenup-worthy spaces for photoshoots, fun activities, gym and workout facilities, thoughtful complimentaries and most of all, their welcoming and courteous staff.

Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, family or group of friends, you will want to go back to Amorita over and over again. 🌸
