The Bellevue Resort Bohol Review: 7 Reasons Why You Should Stay Here Under The New Normal

The Bellevue Resort has been the model resort under the new normal here in Bohol.

Situated in Doljo, Pangalo, the Bellevue resort offers a luxury escape placing emphasis on your safety, comfort and privacy.

They were the first resort to open their doors for OFWS to go home during the pandemic, a reliable host for national and local events, and the resort that’s always a step ahead when it comes to maintaining the safety of their guests.

We had the privilege to stay at the resort for 6 days and we have experienced for ourselves how Bellevue prioritizes safety.

1. Resort Employees are Regularly Tested

Of all the resorts we’ve been to, the Bellevue Resort is the first in Bohol to regularly test their employees. They heightened their safety measures to ensure their employees and guests have a safe environment to stay during the pandemic.

Also, we love how the resort is passionate about taking care of their employees and extending support to them. To maintain everyone’s safety, employees have to work for around 3 weeks straight and take a week off. When they go back to the resort after their week off, they have to take another test to make sure they are COVID-free. With this setup, Bellevue resort is kind enough to provide their employees free accommodations and full board meals for the duration of their work roster. 🙌

These safety and precautionary protocols are made to protect their employees, their loved ones and all the guests against the virus. All the staff were wearing face masks and face shields. The waiters always served with gloves. Social distancing and safety protocols signage are all around, alcohols and sanitizers are everywhere.

They were officially certified as one of the recipients of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Safe Travels stamp in the country. They are also one of the first resorts in Bohol who is already working on rolling out vaccines for their employees. 💖

2. Rooms are Thoroughly Sanitized and Well-maintained

To properly adhere to the rules and regulations of DOT, every room in the resort is vacated 24 hours before reselling. This is to give enough time for the disinfection process that has to be done. As the housekeeping team enters the room, they nano spray all the surfaces first, from the door to every corner of the room to disinfect. The nano spray comes with a UV light, too. After disinfection, it’s time to leave the UV light on for around 15 minutes, followed by the final touch ups of the room.

They also have a luggage disinfection room where all luggage have to placed before they can be brought to the guests’ respective rooms.

We stayed at the biggest room in the entire resort and it was such an amazing experience! 🥰

PRESIDENTIAL SUITE

The Presidential Suite is a 2-bedroom suite. One room has 2 queen beds and the other room has a king bed. The room is complete with all the amenities that you need, including a care kit for your safety.

The Presidential Suite is very professional looking,  has a living area, a kitchenette and dining area, a bathroom with bathtub per room, and a balcony with an outdoor Jacuzzi and ocean view. Even from your suite, you can enjoy the view of the garden, the pool and beach without even having to leave.

The Bellevue Resort is an ASEAN Green Hotel awardee. Eco-friendly principles and energy conservation measures are in place to ensure sustainable tourism at the resort. We easily noticed how they use recycled newspapers in trash bins instead of plastic. Next year, they are aiming to power the resort through solar energy.

Promising plans ahead for the Bellevue Resort! 💖✨

3. There are a Lot of Options For Outdoor Dining

With the pandemic that’s forcing us to be socially distant, The Bellevue Resort has a lot of dining options for you.

Marea Al Fresco Restaurant

Perhaps their signature restaurant, which you always see in photos, is Marea Al Fresco Restaurant. It’s the main restaurant of the resort where you can see the rooms, the pool and beach in one seating. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, snacks or dinner, you will love chilling with a view at Marea.

Cena View Deck

Above the Marea Al Fresco restaurant is the Cena View Deck, which has an even more overlooking view of the beachfront. We had our first breakfast there and it was so breathtaking. Would definitely wake up early for breakfast with a view from there.

Lamian World Cuisine

Lamian features a wide range of both Fipino and international cuisine in the restaurant. They serve sandwiches, pizzas and refreshing drinks. We enjoyed our lunch there where we were served with their winning UBE recipes. You may opt to eat indoors or al fresco by the poolside.

Beach Bonfire Dining

Every Friday, Bellevue offers a bonfire dinner by the beach that you wouldn’t want to miss. It’s nice sinking your toes in the sand, enjoying low seating, savoring delish choices and listening to live music under the starry skies.

Garden Dining

At the center of the resort is a garden that is widely used for events, too. We had our breakfast buffet there and it was very refreshing. The weather was crazy during our stay but they had a huge tent ready as well.

Floating Lounge

First of its kind in Bohol, their dinner at the floating lounge is something you’ll want to experience when you stay at Bellevue. We had the privilege to be the first guests to try a romantic dinner there and it was nothing short of amazing! We had our own butler and live music, too!

Luxury View Deck

The Bellevue Resort has a luxury view deck where you can hold intimate dinners with families and friends. It’s ideal for small groups who want to enjoy sunset or gaze the stars at night.

Room Balcony

Every room has a balcony with beautiful overlooking views so if you’re feeling lazy to go downstairs, you can choose to dine at the comfort of your room as well.

4. There Are Safe and Fun Outdoor Activities That you Can Enjoy

As outdoor dining becomes a safer option to enjoy your food, Bellevue also has fun outdoor activities that you can do.

Mangrove Kayaking

The Bellevue Resort is passionate about caring for the environment, including marine life. One of the resort activities is mangrove kayaking where guests are able to experience the beauty of Doljo Mangrove Rainforest in Panglao Island. 🛶

The Bellevue Resort regularly plants mangroves and does mangrove kayak clean ups. Mangroves have the ability to store vast amounts of carbon and having mangrove forests help fight climate change. By protecting mangroves, we can help protect the future of our planet, too. 🌱🍃

Paddle Boarding and Water Pedal Bikes

If mangrove kayaking is not your thing, you can also do paddle boarding and water pedal biking by the beach. It’s fun and also a great way to workout.

Yoga

One of the activities that we did in the resort is sunset yoga. The Bellevue Resort’s huge garden is a perfect place to hold yoga classes and retreats with a big group. 🧘

Freediving or Snorkeling

Bohol is the freediving capital of the Philippines and staying at The Bellevue Resort gives you the opportunity to dive into the beautiful and thriving underwater world near the resort. Whether you’re a newbie or expert, you’ll enjoy freediving in Bohol. 🤿

Outdoor Team Building Activities

No wonder why they are always chosen as the host for national and local events in Bohol, The Bellevue resort has everything you need for events and team building activities.

They have archery, giant jenga pieces and beautiful beachfront for group beach games.

5. You Can Indulge in a Safe Massage Treatment

One of the best Swedish massages we had in Bohol was at the Bellevue Resort. It’s actually their most requested type of massage, too!

The massage room has this therapeutic vibe which was relaxing. As we headed to the spa downstairs, we already smelled peppermint along the way.

6. The Facilities Are Sanitized Frequently

One of the things that make The Bellevue Resort stand out during this pandemic is their continuous commitment to keep the resort safe for their guests.

We easily noticed in the elevators that the push buttons have plastic cover and were sanitized every few hours, too! There were alcohol stations in strategic areas and signages as well.

The resort has many facilities that couples, families and groups of friends can enjoy. They have a cute playroom for kids, stargazing in their luxury view deck and infinity pool with beach and ocean views.

7. They Do Rapid Antigen Testing For Group Events and Local Guests

We love how The Bellevue Resort prioritizes our safety. Our stay at the resort was part of the Bohol Media Junket and Food Crawl 2021 event and all of us were required to undergo a rapid antigen test first before officially joining. This was to make sure that we are all safe during our stay.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Rapid antigen tests detect viral proteins (known as antigens). The test samples are collected from the nose and currently authorized to be performed on nasopharyngeal or nasal swab specimens. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted emergency use for antigen tests that can identify COVID-19. Rapid Antigen Tests are immunoassays that detect the presence of a specific viral antigen, which implies current viral infection.

While it is not compulsory for local guests to take a rapid antigen test when checking in at the resort as of the moment this article was written, locals can also opt to take a rapid antigen test for an affordable price.
